DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT ACHIEVED IN SLEEP STUDY OF EATING DISORDER PATIENTS The Renfrew Center, Coconut Creek, FL STUDY OVERVIEW: Therapists, physicians, researchers, and other mental health professionals in a wide variety of clinical settings are discovering the healing power of audio therapy by Theracoustic™. Combining the principles of Quantum Harmonics™ audio therapy with the benefits of meditation, Theracoustic provides an all-natural, drug-free, and clinically-tested tool for the treatment of sleep disorders, as well as depression, and other behavioral health problems. METHODOLOGY: In a recent study at The Renfrew Center in Coconut Creek, FL, a pioneer and leader in the treatment of eating disorders, a group of female adolescent residents were instructed to listen to the 60-minute Theracoustic Delta Sleep audio therapy program nightly at bedtime and to repeat it if they awoke overnight. Residents recorded their symptom levels on daily Symptom Intensity Scale (SIS) Forms. Each completed at least 14 days of reports. RESULTS: Improvement was rapid and dramatic. Over 14 days: • Trouble Getting to Sleep decreased by 78.5% • Trouble Staying Asleep decreased by 86% Quality sleep is especially important in the treatment of eating disorders. Sleep deprivation can rob individuals of the ability to participate fully in their recovery, making them irritable, withdrawn, and unable to concentrate and stay awake during therapy and important activities. KEY FINDINGS: No matter where subjects started with their symptom levels, the study reported, "the graphs show a similarity of steady symptom decline" and, significantly, "without a return to pre-treatment levels." The study demonstrates that quality sleep enabled patients to participate fully in recovery, reducing irritability and inability to concentrate during therapy and activities.
